as I understood within HANA (so also with S4/HANA and ECC on HANA) there is a functionality called "HANA Alert" which could be used to notifiy other systems of a change to certain transaction data. But after a half day google- and SCN-search, I could not find any more information. Could somebody point me in the right direction, please? 
My intention is to find a way to replace the ALE change pointer concept by a real-time notification.
