B1 HANA installation in AWS
Hi guys,
I am trying to install SAP B1 HANA 9.0 PL11 in AWS r3.4xLarge instance.
- Installation of HANA Engine Rev 74.3 is successful
- Installation of HANA AFL Rev 74.4 is successful
- Installation of HANA Client 32-bit Rev 74.3 is successful
- Installation of HANA Client 64-bit Rev 74.3 is successful
However, when I try to install Package_Linux from B1H 9.0 PL11, I am getting this error
Processing ScripInstallAction</Common/support/bin/CreateSHR_postinstall.sh> <after_start> … failed!
Processing ScripInstallAction</Common/support/bin/Analytics_postinstall.sh> <after_start> … failed!
Installation failed; proceed to roll back the installation.
I can only click on the only button "Roll-Back". After that, there is a summary page and it shows that
- Server Tools are installed successfully
- SAP Business One Server installation failed
- Analytical Features installation successful.
What could be the cause of this error?

HANA One license renewal on AWS (not Developer Edition)?
Is there a process or info on renewing a (64gb) HANA One license on AWS? Started on rev70 sps7 but now on rev82. This is not the developer edition and ito avoid an expired (midnight) license and lockout. The old HANA One Console Manager does not work, but I can still access via Studio.

How do we add Foreign key to a HDBTABLE
Hi,
We are using SP8 hdbtable concept and created tables in HANA. Now we want enforce referential integrity on few tables and hence looking for syntaxc on how we apply foreign key constraints on the table definition on Development perspective.
I creating a run time object, stored procedure, But I am getting an error ALTER syntax is not supported as SQL Script.
Please let me know the possible approaches. We also need to transport the piece of the code to Q and P systems.

HANA DB - System refresh takes long time (running to infinite)
Hello colleagues,
My environment is composed by a HANA appliance REV 91 with 256 GB containning two HANA systems (HDD and HDQ). Inside these systems we have in each one two schemas ( we prefered dont do the installation by multitanant databases) for Netweaver solutions (BW on HANA ABAP+JAVA)
After a crash due insufficient memory resources in system HDD, we changed the memory parameter for database, from 60 GB to 100GB.
However after this, the system HDQ, which still have 100 GB configured for memory, stopped to show all informations contained in Hana administration console. Also, in DB02 these informations didn't appear - the process seems to run in a infinite loop, which ends after two hours.
But for system HDD, everything is ok.
This happens in HANA STUDIO running in my laptop and inside server console also. (both hana studio versions are in revision 91 )
I've opened a OSS call, because there aren't errors in tracelogs.
I would like to know if you passed a situation like this, because I can't wonder what's is going on, because everything seems to be ok.
Just to verify if this can help, I've started a table consistency check through hdbsql. It's still running.

grant select privilege on table in sys schema
Hi Team,
I have an issue, where i want to grant a select on particular view in SYS schema to a user. Now the problem is that SYS user would be deactivated right is there any alternate way i can grant select on tables existing in SYS schema or it is not possible?
I tried searching information but couldnt find

ERP on HANA Archiving
Hi,
We are in process of implementing data archiving process for ECC system built on HANA.
Just wanted to clarify few pointers,
1) What is SAPs proposed approach for archiving on ECC-HANA systems?
2) I read about ILM(Data retention and archiving functions), can we use ILM with ECC on HANA
3) What are the databases that can be used for archiving in ILM
4) What about the licensing incase of ILM?
5) If archived to database using ILM,can we bring back the data to HANA
6) Is the procedure same as in ILM incase of HANA as DB(for ECC) or is there different approach incase of ECC on HANA system for data archiving process.
7) I guess NLS is something applicable for BW and not for ECC, am I right in saying this?

Current best practices in HANA Development
Hi All,
There are different development standards being followed in different projects. Different execution plans give different stories.
HANA live works with pure calculation views.
There are projects that live by re usability of the attribute and analytical views.
But mostly nowadays, the calculation view is directly created with the fact and dimension tables.
I know execution plans will explain the truth of what's best.. in each scenario but is there somewhere a universally accepted best approach?
If yes, please let me know.

Scientific Notation in a table Column in HANA
Hi All.
We are in the process of creating a prototype for a healthcare customer.
As a part of this, I am trying to load some data from a flat fie provided by the customer.
The flat file has a column named PT_ID which has values like the following:
But when I take it to my table in HANA using ‘Import from Local File’, my table data looks like this:
Could some body help me out with a solution to avoid this Scientific notation (like 3.9729904E7)coming in for the column PT_ID
Am on Revision 92 and the data type of the field PT_ID is NVARCHAR 11 (Proposed by the system and the maximum length seen in the source excel is only 8).

AWS SAP HANA One System locked; license is invalid or expired
Hi SAP HANA Experts,
We were using the SAP HANA One Instance since from 1 Year & today our license is expired
We were not able to login to the system & it says that SAP HANA One Instance License is expired .
Because of this we were not able to open the SAP HANA One Management Console by entering our static IP Address from the web browser to download the license key from SAP HANA One Management console.
Can you please provide us the information how to download the license key & install it in this critical situation

Date Function Error
Hello,
I am trying to calculate Goods movement date and used DATE Function "Between" to find out the dates between BUDAT and Current Date/System Date(used date function NOW().

I am trying to work with the social network analysis copied from above. I tried to change the callings because of the changes of SPS9.
I changed:

How to get previous year calculations in HANA models?
Hi Experts,
I am working on COPA P&L report and I am creating views in HANA and the scenario is I need to bring Current year Actual, Current Year Plan & Previous Year Actual data through calculation view. I stuck with Previous Year data. Could you please tell me how to bring previous year data.
I am able to bring Actual and Plan data for current year through calculation view.
I have apporx 25 measures to be shown side by side for Input year (User input the value) and previous year.

Confused by the removal of aggregate/index tables in HANA
Hiya,
I've heard that HANA removes the need for aggregate and index tables like BSIS, BSAS, VRPMA etc.
Is HANA smart enough to do this? Or does Simple finance (sFIN) do this?
I mean if we were to replace our Oracle DB with HANA would the index tables no longer exist?
Or would we then need to implement simple finance to then remove the need for index tables?

Unable find and Import Released changes in Quality system
Hi,
Recently we have configured Transport route in SAP HANA and Enabled Change Recording.
we used Enable Native SAP HANA Transport mechanism
Initially we have tried Full release with Delivery unit and it was successful.
But when we tried CHANGES option with Delivery unit we are able to capture changes , approved and then released the changes in Development system
but tried to transport the released changes in Quality system we are unable to find the request.
Can any one suggest me solution for it
